1. Scope and Overview 

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and protect personal information when you access or use the Platform, create an account, browse, place an order, communicate with us, submit reviews/content, register as a Seller, or otherwise interact with our services (the “Services”). 

Marketplace model notice: Weebe is a marketplace intermediary. Products are sold and fulfilled by independent third-party sellers (“Sellers”). We operate the Platform and provide marketplace services.  

If there is a conflict between the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy governs only with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of personal information. 

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy, and agree to the processing described herein, subject to applicable law. 

 

2. Data Controller and Contact (Lebanon)

Elevate Digital SAL acts as the data controller for purposes of Lebanese Law No. 81/2018 (Electronic Transactions and Personal Data).  

Shopify: The Platform is powered by Shopify. Shopify acts as a data processor for certain processing performed on our behalf and, in some circumstances, may act as an independent controller for its own products and services (for example, security, infrastructure, and certain enhanced features). 

 

3. Roles in a Marketplace (Important) 

3.1 Buyers 

When you buy on Weebe, we process your personal information to operate the Platform, manage accounts, facilitate orders, support customer service, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. 

 

3.2 Sellers (Marketplace-Specific) 

If you act as a Seller, we may collect and process additional personal and business information to operate the marketplace, manage onboarding, prevent fraud, enable payouts, and comply with legal/compliance requirements. 

 

3.3 Sellers’ Access to Buyer Data 

Sellers may access limited Buyer personal data (such as name, phone number, delivery address, and order details) only to: 

  • fulfill orders,  
  • provide customer service regarding an order, and
  • meet legal compliance obligations.  

 

Sellers are prohibited from: 

  • using Buyer data for independent marketing or advertising,
  • contacting Buyers outside the Platform except where strictly necessary for order fulfillment or required by law, or
  • retaining or building Buyer databases outside the Platform except where required by law.  

 

We may enforce these rules, including by monitoring for misuse indicators, auditing where appropriate, restricting access, suspending, or terminating Seller accounts. 

 

Important: Sellers may act as independent controllers for personal data they process for their own order fulfillment, invoicing/recordkeeping, warranties, and legal obligations. Weebe is not responsible for Sellers’ independent processing activities outside our Platform instructions and rules. 

Sellers must retain Buyer personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill legal and contractual obligations and must securely delete or anonymize such data thereafter, unless longer retention is required by applicable law. 

Sellers are responsible for providing any legally required privacy notices to Buyers for their independent processing activities. 

 

4. Personal Information We Collect 

Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to an individual.  

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect: 

 

4.1 Information You Provide Directly 

  • Contact details: name, email, phone number, delivery address, billing address
  • Account details: login credentials, preferences/settings
  • Order/support communications: support messages, claims, complaints, return requests, dispute information
  • User content: reviews, ratings, comments, images, and feedback (where enabled) 

 

4.2 Transaction and Payment Information 

  • Transaction details: products viewed, added to cart, purchased, returned/cancelled
  • Payment information: payment method token/confirmation and transaction metadata 

Note: Payment card details are generally processed by payment service providers and Shopify/payment gateways. We do not want or need full card numbers stored in our systems unless required for a specific reason. 

4.3 Device, Usage, and Technical Data 

  • IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system
  • log data (pages viewed, clicks, time spent, referral URLs)
  • approximate location derived from IP (where available) 

 

4.4 Seller Information (if you register as a Seller) 

We may collect and process Seller personal/business information including: 

  • business registration and corporate documents
  • tax identification (where applicable)
  • authorized signatory information
  • identity verification/KYC data (where applicable)
  • banking and payout details
  • listings, inventory, pricing, transaction history
  • Seller communications and performance metrics 

 

5. Sources of Personal Information 

We collect personal information from: 

  • You, directly (account creation, checkout, support inquiries)
  • Automatically, through your use of the Services (cookies, logs, device data)
  • Service providers, including Shopify, payment processors, delivery partners, analytics/security providers
  • Sellers, when a Seller provides order-related information necessary to complete the transaction
  • Partners/third parties, where permitted and applicable (e.g., marketing partners, if enabled) 

 

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies 

We use cookies and similar technologies to: 

  • operate essential features (login, cart, checkout, security)
  • remember preferences (language/region)
  • analyze usage and performance
  • provide relevant content and, where permitted, marketing  

 

Cookie types may include: 

  •  Essential cookies (that cannot be disabled for core functions)
  • Performance/analytics cookies
  • Functional cookies
  • Marketing cookies (where permitted)  

 

Your choices: You can control cookies via your browser settings and any cookie preference tools made available on the Platform. Disabling cookies may affect functionality.

7. How We Use Personal Information 

We use personal information to:

1. Provide and operate the Services 

  • create/manage accounts, process orders, enable checkout, facilitate delivery, manage returns/exchanges, issue refunds or Wallet credits (where applicable), support Sellers and Buyers 

2. Customer support and communications 

  • respond to inquiries, provide order updates, send service messages (non-marketing) 

3. Security and fraud prevention 

  • authenticate users, detect abuse, prevent fraud, investigate suspicious activity, enforce Platform policies. 

4. Marketing and promotions (optional / where permitted) 

  • Send promotional emails/messages (you may opt out at any time)  
  • Measure marketing effectiveness (where enabled and permitted) 
  • Marketing communications are sent only where permitted by law and subject to User consent or opt-out rights, as applicable. 

5. Legal compliance and enforcement 

  • comply with lawful requests, regulatory obligations, dispute resolution, enforce agreements/policies 

Automated tools 

We may use automated tools for fraud detection, risk scoring, and policy enforcement. Where required by applicable law, decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects will be subject to human review. 

 

8. Legal Basis for Processing (Lebanon) 

Under Lebanese Law No. 81/2018, we process personal data based on one or more of the following bases (as applicable): 

  • performance of a contract (e.g., providing Services, fulfilling orders)
  • compliance with legal obligations
  • legitimate interests (e.g., security, fraud prevention, platform integrity)
  • consent (where required, such as certain marketing/cookies) 

We may disclose personal data where reasonably necessary to comply with lawful requests from competent authorities. 

 

9. How We Disclose Personal Information 

We may disclose personal information as follows: 

 

9.1 Service providers (processors) 

We share information with providers supporting: 

  • platform hosting and operations (e.g., Shopify)
  • payment processing
  • delivery/logistics
  • customer support tools
  • analytics and security services
  • cloud storage and IT services  

9.2 Sellers (Order Fulfillment)  

We share necessary order information (e.g., name, phone, delivery address, order contents) with the relevant Seller(s) so they can fulfill your order and support you. 

Orders involving multiple Sellers may require sharing relevant information with each Seller for their portion of the order. 

 

9.3 Legal Compliance and Protection 

We may disclose information where necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce agreements, prevent harm, or protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Platform and its users. 

 

9.4 Business Transfers 

In connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transactions (subject to reasonable safeguards and notices where required). 

 

9.5 Marketing/advertising partners (if enabled) 

Where enabled and permitted, we may share limited information for advertising and measurement where permitted by law, subject to appropriate contractual protections and your choices. 

 

Weebe does not sell personal data and does not disclose personal data in exchange for monetary consideration. 

 

10. International Transfers 

Your personal data may be transferred to, stored, or processed outside Lebanon (for example, where Shopify or our service providers operate infrastructure). We use reasonable contractual and technical safeguards to protect personal data during cross-border transfers. 

By using the Services, you acknowledge that such transfers may occur subject to reasonable safeguards. 

 

11. Data Retention 

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for: 

  • providing the Services
  • fulfilling contracts and platform operations
  • legal, tax, accounting, and compliance requirements
  • dispute resolution and enforcement 

Retention periods vary by data type and context. Some records (including Seller payout/tax records) may be retained after account termination where required by applicable law. 

 

12. Security 

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.  

However, no security measure is perfect. Please avoid sending sensitive data through unsecured channels. 

 

13. Personal Data Breach Notification 

If a personal data breach presents a material risk, we will take reasonable steps to mitigate the impact and notify affected users in accordance with applicable Lebanese legal principles and good practice. 

 

14. Children’s Privacy 

The Services are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in the user’s jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at legal@elevatedigtl.com. 

 

15. Your Rights and Choices 

Subject to applicable law and verification requirements, you may request: 

  • access to personal information we hold about you
  • correction of inaccurate information
  • deletion of information (where applicable)
  • portability (where applicable)   

 

Marketing preferences: You may opt out of promotional communications by using “unsubscribe” in messages or contacting us.

We will respond within a reasonable timeframe, subject to applicable law. 

 

16. Seller Compliance, Audit, and Enforcement 

We may take steps to ensure Seller compliance with data protection requirements, including: 

  • monitoring for misuse indicators
  • investigating complaints
  • restricting data access
  • suspending or terminating Sellers for misuse 

 

17. Third-Party Links 

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or platforms. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing information. 

 

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated version on the Platform and update the “Last Updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. 

 

19. No Fiduciary Relationship 

Nothing in this Privacy Policy creates a fiduciary, agency, or trust relationship between Weebe and users with respect to personal data.
