Nay Plastic NP-D-01 Douga Scale

Nay Plastic NP-D-01 – Douga Scale

The NP-D-01 is a precision-molded nay flute made from specialized plastic, engineered to replicate the timbre and expressiveness of the traditional bamboo nay while offering enhanced durability and ease of maintenance. Its smooth, uniform body ensures consistent tone quality, unaffected by moisture or temperature fluctuations.

Tuned to the Douga scale, this nay delivers the same rich emotional flavor and modal depth found in classical Middle Eastern music. It includes six front finger-holes and one thumb hole, allowing for ornamentations, microtonal inflections, and subtle dynamic control. The plastic construction makes it lighter to hold, more resilient during travel, and less susceptible to cracking or warping.

Ideal for learners, street performers, or anyone needing a reliable instrument for frequent use, the NP-D-01 balances traditonal sound with modern practicality. No two may sound exactly the same, but this model offers excellent intonation, stable pitch, and a clean, clear tone that carries well in ensemble settings or solo performance.
